If you’ve been trying to lose weight or build muscle for a long time and have had no luck, then you may well be starting to think that it’s a lost cause. This is understandable as it can get highly frustrating continuously training and/or dieting without seeing any progress, but the important thing to remember is that there is no such thing as a lost cause.

For starters, everyone reacts differently to different diets and different training. If you aren’t seeing the results you want then you may just not have found the method that works for you yet. At the same time, some methods are so powerful that they work for almost everyone and the best of these also prevent many of the common pitfalls that prevent others from working. We’re going to look at that latter category here to try and provide you with a range of fitness strategies that are highly unlikely to fail to work for you.

The Slow Carb Diet

There are countless diets out there, but the problem for most of them is that people fail to stick to them for long enough. The slow carb diet though is one that’s relatively easy to stick to and that sees some of the best ‘adherence’ of any diet there is.

How does it work? Simple: you avoid any of the ‘white’ carbohydrates which means bread, pasta, rice and potato. At the same time you avoid dairy and citrus fruit, but you make sure you get plenty of beans, nuts, legumes, vegetables and protein so that you still have a complete diet. This is simple to stick to and the science behind it is good, leading to quick results.

The GOMAD Diet


If you’re trying to build muscle rather than lose weight, then you should instead take a look at ‘GOMAD’. Rather simply this stands for a  ‘Gallon Of Milk A Day’ and recommends you add exactly that to your diet every day. For most people that’s enough to give them the protein they need to trigger the transformation.  Needless to say, you should be a milk lover to tackle this one.

Want to be sure you’ll exercise regularly? Then call up a swimming pool service and have them install a pool in your home if you have the space and funds to do this. Now you have a method of getting into shape that’s not stressful on the body, that’s lots of fun, and that’s very easily accessible for you. There’s really no reason not to workout anymore and you’ll find yourself actually looking forward to it!

Join a Club

Another strategy is just to join a club, whether that’s martial arts or ballroom dancing. Fall in love with a new physical hobby and the people you are learning it with, and you’ll tone up your body without even noticing it. The fact you’ll be going with other people also means that you’ll feel you don’t want to drop out and let everyone down which will encourage you to keep going.
